A little break from the coding – and a quick brush up on some useful working methods in Photoshop. Let’s go through selections, layer masks and colour adjustments on the image of a glass marble. Download the file ↓ glass marble (source image, .psd file) and work through the PDF below.

Before you start working on your next project - let's take some time to work with images for dramatic effects. Download the sample photos and take some time to edit them for better quality. Your task is to edit the images to express the listed points. For each image, create an additional thumbnail at a size less than 100px in width or height.

While you’re working on your current project – take some time to consider how you can make the header of your mini site into a meaningful and engaging visual. Depending on your chosen angle of the “box” – you are likely to have lots of imagery to choose from. As you’ve already started on a design – have look at the article below for inspiration :)
Note also how the header graphic can be carried through to other elements, such as the footer and sidebar.
