to format your text, add images and links - you can now use the lovely Markdown syntax. The small editor icons will do half the work for you - but if you wish to explore other options ~ see this reference from Daring Fireball (John Gruber)

I work at a non-profit and we currently use istock. Other recommendations? We buy a large number of photos for brochures/other marketing pieces.

AJ - about stock imagery, well... there are too many options out there really...
I don't use that many myself, usually creating my own visuals but one that I have used with great success in the past is http://www.123rf.com

apart from that - check out the Flickr Creative Commons pool and other free image sites such as http://morguefile.com or http://imageafter.com. You will need to read the individual licenses for use but there is an amazing collection available ;)
