    Hello,
at the moment I m more in stage - code into something... not Design into Code...
and result is as it is..... its like a cooking when you dont know full recepie and havent skills but have indigredients just make anything and hope that somebody will like it.....sure only because he is polite for beginners ;)
One of the difficulties is define and understand where are difficulties and coding problems actually is, and understand how to create a question to ask for help.... but when I already define problem and start to create help request, its mean and give feeling that I am close to it solving myself ;)
Thanks for this forum and now sure I ll try to find help here.
    Rinalds.

    Hi Prisca,

    I'm charlotte.
    And what about your break?
About my calendar, I spend a lot of hours to make it but I really enjoyed doing it. I did it third because the two first time, it wasn't working properly.
So last time I wrote the html codes, on a piece of paper to organise my brain before doing it. And I think it helped me a lot.

About my second work, i didn't finish yet. I chose "K VII" of Lazlo Moholy-Naguy. I liked it because it's the most organise picture of the 6. When I look at this one I can imagine a layout. Then I started to find somes black and white pictures from India, which inspired to me. Next I looked for some ornementation, decoration, colors... from India.

Then next step was to organise everything in illustrator, so I built my web layout in illustrator to have a look at the final project.

And Now, I'm handcoding everything for the web. But I met some problems so I have to write my codes on a piece of paper again to organise my file and my brain as well.
So for the moment I didn't finish yet but I'm doing last part.

    Have a nice day.
    Charlotte

    Hello everyone;

I inspired my design in both designs of Lazlo Moholy-Nagy. At the beginning I didn't know what the web was gonna be about so I focus in the general idea of the design. The first step was thinking in squares as the 'composition' picture. But at the same time I liked the boxes of the 'K VII', so I decided incluide them in the squares design. Then I decided to do it about glassware. And I decided put the more flashing glasses in the squares. Also to shape the squares in differents ways to make them more informal, as the glasses. That brought me the idea of the name, Locoglass, a mix of spanish and english, thinking than everybody knows what loco means in spanish. Just in case someone doesn't know, loco means crazy.
About the backgrounds I've just searched loads of textures until I found one that suit to my project.

I enjoyed quiet a lot doing the mock up, though I have moments of low inspiration, and creative crisis.
But the big challenger for me was transform my mock up in code. After making thousands of attempts, and very important, thanks of the great help of Prisca, I won. Nonetheless I had lots of doubts. I have really problems with the tag class and moving in the file of the background with the background-position.

I founded the project hard but very stimulating. So I'm keen to start the next challenger Prisca, thanks a lot for your patience.

    Ichi

Thanks people ;) very interesting to see how you approach the design :)
let's hope the others will join in soon as well :)

And don't be shy - do share your problems as well - surprised to see you're not moaning about the coding headaches you had :)

Rinald, I know what you mean, it's really dificult to be creative when you are focus in the, as Prisca say, headache of coding. The same happens to me, and it can be very fustrating. But what really helped to me was to make first the mock up, I haven't think on it and I think it's a great idea, at least I could be more creative.
Hope you find your ingredients chef.

    See you friday people.

    Ichi
